This Thanksgving we celebrate some exciting political and cultural developments in Tucson and beyond, including: the victories of Democrats Uhlich and Trasoff recently elected to Tucson City Council, KXCI's celebration of 22 years of community radio, Congress opposing a budget designed to fund the military on the backs of the poor, ongoing efforts of human rights activists along the border and the courage of such truth-telling journalists as Amy Goodman of Pacifica Radio. If that isn't uplifting enough for you--it's Jim Lipson's birthday!
